3 posts · Joined 2022. #1 · Jun 28, 2022. So my 2012 1.4 turbo Cruze had been blowing oil all over the passenger side of the engine compartment, so much so that it's covering the belts, pcv, etc.... I've done the oil pan, rear main seal, and most recently the intake manifold.....in addition to these I will also be doing the solenoids.

This time it looked to be from the compression ring holding the turbo and exhaust together. I took the ring off and cleaned it up. Sure enough! Oil is seeping where the turbo mates with the exhaust. I'm assuming the turbo fan seal is shot.It dies on the way at a stop light. When I get to the car I pull the maf sensor and it’s still looking good from when I cleaned it . Pull the ignition coil to see if oil had returned into the wells. It looks good also, no oil. Pull the pcv hose from the intake and check for the check valve. So instead of letting the customer know to add (if required) 1 more qt of oil. We had 4 qts. of M1 5W30 and they added whatever the house oil is.
