Problem Description. A shudder or vibration may develop while driving at speeds between 35 and 40 MPH. Our technicians tell us this condition is commonly caused by a failed automatic transmission torque converter. It is recommend to replace the torque converter and install an updated powertrain control module (PCM) to correct this concern.I removed MAP sensor, checked the connectors for corrosion - found noting suspicious, reinstalled it and it the truck still shivers under low acceleration. I also tried to log MAP, MAF, Ignition Advence, Fuel Rail Pressure and Absolute Throttle position.

Replaced the injectors with a set of cleaned referbs. This has eliminated a consistent misfire in cylinder #5. Replaced the plugs and coil packs as well.The fix is to cycle 20 qts of new fluid through the transmission, as the fluid that's currently in the transmission absorbs too much water and is causing the torque converter shudder.
