Purpose This randomized group experiment compared the efficacy of two communication interventions [Responsive Education and Prelinguistic Milieu Teaching (RPMT) and the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)] on spoken communication in 36 pre-schoolers with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
