Finally got my hands on a XB7 today and did a test and noticed a huge speed decrease on 5ghz. Went from 250mbps to 150. I noticed the channel wifi channel is on a channel that wasnt used on the xb6. The channel right now is 42 and on the xb6 it was a much higher channel which made for much faster speeds. I can't change the channel since xfinity ... I also have the gigabit plan (1200 down 35 up) and with my old XB7-T I was getting around 500-600mbps being in the same room as the router and now with the XB7-CM I'm getting between 700-800mbps in the same room and the range is improved as well. In other rooms in the house where I was getting around 350-400 I'm now getting 550-600mbps.
