It actually sounds like you're at the bottom of the main shaft in red brinstar and are simply mistaken about the room turning dark (had to use a morph ball bomb to be there, can't get back up, has items found in norfair, doesn't have powerbombs, thoughts of freezing enemies to get back up). Stuck in Norfair. happyjoe5 15 years ago #1. I've just entered Norfair for the first time, dropped down the first shaft and gone into the room on the left. There are two barriers that move down from the ceiling and block the path, and I think to get past you need to sprint underneath them before they have time to close.

You do need to go back to Norfair.
