Cheyenne Bottoms is a Kansas state wildlife area. It's part of a 41,000-acre natural land sink northeast of Great Bend, Kansas. The state aquired the land during the 1940's and 1950's and built dikes to collect water in five pools.The Cheyenne Indians mostly ate buffalo and deer meat, squash, corn and other vegetables. They also bought fish, fruits and berries from other tribes.
