Hello to those in the know, I am looking for some advice. I have the opportunity to make a private purchase of an Ithaca SKB model 280E in 12 gauge. This is a side by side shotgun with 28" barrels, choked full and modified, with ejectors, and an English style straight grip stock. Single trigger, with selector.The 880 is equal to the current SKB 885 only the wood was supplied by Ithaca so it's much nicer. The 880's are closer to the Weatherby Athena Grade V. Mitsui brought some in too. The links that drcook and IthacaMatt posted are the same model. I believe SKB in Omaha has parts and even some wood available. The bores were chome lined on this model FYI. The XL900MR was 3" capable, but required 2 barrels - one 3" and one 2 3/4". The XL1900 used a variable gas valve system for hi/lpw power loads.
