In my opinion, Crying Child doesn't possess anyone. The only character that it makes any sort of sense for Crying Child to possess is Golden Freddy but that can't work because FNAF 1-3 makes it very clear that Golden Freddy is the 5th MCI victim which FFPS and the Logbook would go onto name Cassidy.Golden Freddy’s not the only character who says it’s me. It’s associated with Bonnie and Freddy in the hallucinations (even when Golden Freddy isn’t present) and it can appear on Foxy’s sign. And the puppet uses it in FNaF 2’s cutscenes. It’s just a creepy phrase. Hence why it got dropped after FNaF 2.

The puppet has some pretty odd properties, in fnaf 3 it can be seen reappearing and disappearing in hallways where its not supposed to be in. Puppet can seemingly float around everywhere despite the other animatronics unable to do so. Puppet can help spirits possess other animatronics. The MCI happened during Fnaf 1, so there'd either have to be another MCI or the Toys are possessed by somebody else. At the end of game 2 they show fnaf 2 took place before fnaf 1. But either way, in the minigames in fnaf 2 they show the puppet putting the souls in the 5 from fnaf 1. They don't show the toys in those minigames.…
