The control over the helicopter is insane if you learn AFM. BFM teaches you that throttle doesn't matter, in AFM throttle matters at every speed even you are flying straight. It takes far more concentration and skill to fly AFM. I would say 95% of AFM players are worse than a good BFM pilot.
Z - Lower. A/D - Strafe left or right. W/S - Flip forward or backwards. X/C - Rotate left or right. Moving the mouse will tilt the heli so be careful not to have it super sensitive and flip the heli. In that case, when you fly at speeds lower than 50km/h and you turn your mouse left, your helicopter will turn left as if you pressed Q button for left pedal. I don't know what the thinking was behind switching the mouse movements around. But as MisterOuchie said, you can easily change it so it's proper.
