You can go to plays, movies, restaurants, concerts, etc. There are a ton of things to do. You will probably meet some stupid people. And some extremely bright people. I looked back at both class of 2025 and 2026 threads. In 2020 (class of 2025), the first wave of decisions came on Dec. 10 which was a Thursday. With further research, I found that UMass Amherst seems to have a higher computer science program ranking nationally, and a very impressive ranking at that. The Amherst campus’s appearance has improved steadily in recent decades–newer buildings are much more attractive, still a couple of concrete monstrosities around, but definitely way better. I’d personally prefer Amherst–especially with the multiple campus set-up at Rutgers and membership in the Five College Consortium at U Mass.
