Making a small research about new set of heads for a 350 chevy, I ran into an article from 2009 saying good words about Canfield heads and I kind of start to like them. I also read more recently that the owners of Canfield retired and the business was sold.

I went to do my first valve spring upgrade today on my 882 sbc heads. My new springs are rated at 110lbs at 1.710" and 305lbs at .500 lift.I bought the proper valve spring height micrometer but when I went to do my first valve I found that I needed four .060" shims and one .030" shim to get to the installed 1.710 valve height.1/4 of 1.5" = .375". "441" - 3932441. This head was found on the 1969-1970 350 engines (255hp 350), it was a decent flowing large chamber head. It had 1.94/1.50" valves, 76CC combustion chambers, DO have accessory holes, intake port volume should be 161CC's, exhaust port volume should be 61CC's.
