Kansas State's first bowl game appearance came in the 1982 Independence Bowl under head coach Jim Dickey. Kansas has appeared in twelve bowl games, including three trips to the Orange Bowl (1948, 1969, and 2008). Kansas has also won six conference championships, most recently winning one in 1968.
