Oct 28, 2023 · When you push the Start button: First, the vehicle's computer checks if the brake pedal is depressed. Second, it checks if the vehicle is in Park or Neutral. Third, the computer checks if the battery has enough power, and only then activates the starter motor that turns over the engine, or switches to "Ready" mode if it's a Hybrid or Electric car.I then placed the key fob in the center console port, and again it would not start nor light up any of the cluster. Thinking maybe the new battery is at fault, I sanded down all the wire terminals (including the side of ground screwed onto the body), checked all the fuses inside the car and in the engine bay, checked the voltage of the battery ...Hyundai Mechanic: Chris (aka- Moose) Hi Ed. Step one is a new remote battery. Then remote fob programming. Have you done those steps, outlined in the owners manual.
