Abstract. The Western European security community is unique for a number of reasons. It is the only region in the world that can be unproblematically labelled as a security community. That community was selfconsciously constructed over a number of decades. It is bound together by complex webs of institutions and relationships.Security Communities. Emanuel Adler, Michael Barnett.
