the difference is the back plate, thats all. Sure the XC3 Ultra has 45mhz more in clock speeds, but the black gaming should easily overclock by 100mhz. I have the 3070 XC3 black and didn't find it worth it to go for the Ultra. The major differences I see between the two is that the FTW3 has a higher power delivery (3 8-pin connectors vs 2 on the XC3), and the set of additional temp sensors.
