Psilocybe subcaerulipes belongs to the section Zapotecorum1 due to its subellipsoid thin-walled basidiospores. P. subcaerulipes from P. zapoteco-rum R. Heim emend. Guzmán in the absence of brownish or grayish pseudocystidia, common in that species, that is spread between Mexico and Argentina. It is close to the Mexican species P. mu -Psilocybe cyanescens, known as the Wavy Cap, is a species of psilocybin-containing mushroom that grows on wood. This saprophytic mushroom gets its common name from the flat brown caps with characteristic “wavy” edges. This species is extremely potent and found in substantially large colonies — making the harvest extremely fruitful.
