I purchased 2 Savage MK II bolt action .22 rifles with the accutriggers, fluted barrels and in sequential serial #'s and have been researching to find out what year they were made. Everything I see has a letter in front of the serial #'s. The barrels do say Savage MK II and start with 1396XXX.29-B's should have a date code, there should be a one or two digit number followed by a letter in a small circle stamped on the barrel just ahead of the receiver.
