This dissertation is a critique of Marx's theory of alienation as described in the "Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844" with emphasis on how Marx constructed his definitions of man and consciousness. The main premise of the theory is that private property caused alienation but the hypothesis of this dissertation is that because the …In Marx's words, "objectification becomes the loss of the object". The object is a loss, in the very mundane and human sense, that the act of producing it is the same act in which it becomes the property of another.
