I was hoping to get some input on this.Suggest that you start by checking the spark right after it quits. It could be either the coil or condenser shorting after things heat up. Same thing applies to the fuel supply. as quick as possible after it stops running try draining fuel from the carb. Our 8070 and 7060 were both running warmer that they should with re cored and an extra row of tubes in the radiator. Took out those junk thermostat and replaced with the good agco ones and temps came down. Gotta really work the 8070 to get it go anywhere near 200-210.A rough running engine could mean anything from needing a full tune-up to a tight or bad valve. If it happens to have Champion plugs in it, that could be your problem. Take them out and throw em' away and put a real set of sparklers in there like Autolites, AC's or NGK's. Remove the Cotter pin, washer and unhook the linkage. draw a diagram or take a picture of the linkage so ya remember how it hooks up. Remove the top retaining ring and drive the pin out of the steering shaft. The steering wheel and shaft should then slide out as a unit. I replaced the clutch disk and pressure plate as well as the bushing-i know i should probably having replaced throwout bearing too, but is is good n tight.
