Pretty much. I started this run at midnight last night, figured i'd give rainbow a shot, hadn't played it yet. I saved and quit at about 2am. Then this morning continued on for another 3 hours. Steam and/or my Nvidia shield crashed a little after I took this pic. I didn't lose everything but got kicked back to the start of the abbey.The shovel gives you items in a rainbow run. I just got an Ice bomb. Yes. You can't get items from any events, boss pedestals, or chests (outside rainbow ones). But things that spawn items directly still work. Like if you pull spice, the shop can now sell spice because it actively makes more of itself. Yes.They're fun, but can get stale very quickly. Play how you want. If you feel like it's cheating to use Rainbow Runs, don't play them. I recommend not using it to unlock characters, especially if you feel it would rob you of the sense of achievement.
