The button can be found near the gear shifter and gets pushed in when you want to move the shifter. When the car is in Park, the shift lock is automatically enabled.This is most likely a bad shifter mechanism. It sends power from the shifter to release the key to the solenoid. Ohm the green wire out from the key lock to the shifter. If good, check power at the red wire at the shifter from fuse 66. If good, check ground at the black/purple wire at the shifter. If all good, replace the shifter.

When it won't go into park I don't hear the solenoid engaging in the steering column.
