I assume it's like poison spores where damage is based on the enemy's total HP?Supposedly you can "Cheese" Darkeater Midir with the Pestilent Mercury spell. If you don't have it, this is how you get it.Does the lingering dragon crest ring affect one or more of the following? -enduring spells such as floating chaos pestilent mist snap freeze toxic mist etc... Lingering affects any buff or spell effect, but not actual spells, as far as I know. So anything like weapon buffs, body buffs or regen effects are affected. Anything else won't be.
