Sending your pets to search for water will yield a couple normal scorpions. Once you get three pets, you will be swimming in scorpions. Solution: Just stay still once you trigger the interact thing. The scorpion will face you and sink into the ground and 1-2 seconds later you will get the scorpion in your inventory. To be clear, the scorpion doesn't GET away.
