The DS front sight is fiber optic with a spare to change out the color. The Mete is white dot. Both adjustable for windage. The fiber really pops as do the Mete three white dots (at least to me). I own the SF and SFX (a longer slide version of the SFT) and can say the shorter frame makes a huge difference (imo) if you're looking to carry. The SF also has a 15 round magazine, whereas all the other current METEs are 18 round (SF can still use 18 round magazines). You have to remove the slide release as it's bar runs through the trigger. Just use a small finishing nail to push the pin up from the bottom. The pin is solid with a cupped end at the bottom and the cup needs to compress and a punch doesn't allow it but a pointy nail will. I field stripped the weapon to verify the spring was in place and everything looked normal. Was using winchester 115gr fmj training rounds. I bought a 20 rounder only to take off and put an after market +4 base plate only to realize I just paid 4 more dollars to not use the base plate it comes with. Just trying to save you a couple of dollars if I can. Thinking back, any Canik mags at that time were absolutely impossible to find.
