Hi all, I'm still pretty new to the decoding of fender tags and build sheets and wanted some help with doing my fender tag and build sheet. I did do a little bit of research through mymopar's decoding system. Came up with this: WH23: Dodge Coronet,Charger. High. 2 Door Hardtop. G4G: 318 150HP (net) or 170HP (net) 1-2BBL 8 CYL.1964 VIN decoding help. Hello to all, I am looking at a 1964 Barracuda for a resto mod. I used to know the one really good site for it but they are out there. 26 means 26 inch radiator, n96is air grabber, f8 is of course the colour, h2x is the interior trim grade and x9 the colour of it (I Think), then above the other codes represent engine and differential codes as well as sequence numbers etc. On the Mopar VIN Decoding page you do just that. First you go over where you can find the VIN on your car, including the VIN tag, fender tag, build sheet, and a partial VIN on the radiator support. Next you look at an overview of the VIN, what each digit is for. For example the first digit goes over the car line. This tag, and car, are of interest to me. The tag does not have the usual St. Louis markings such as the inspection stamp in the upper right hand corner, any punch through stamp nor does the upper left corner appear to have been bent as typical of a 69 St. Louis tag.

The Govier books go through tags for different years and explain how to decode each. Not cheap but probably the best source of options and the most commonly asked about part numbers ( imho ). Unless your lucky enough to find the right build sheet in your car it won't tell you very much.
