Doctor of Musical Arts Conducting The program of study for the degree Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in conducting is divided into five areas including conducting as the major field, a minor field of concentration, music history and music theory, music in higher education, and research. Wind Conducting Concentration: French, Italian, or German. Choral and Orchestral Concentration: French, Italian, and German. Completion of written and oral preliminary exam.
