It has never had the big block power the STIC had . It is not finicky though . My curiosity with the Smart Carb is if it has the power of the Keihin and good for varying conditions .The Pro-Series has received consistent feedback from pro class riders making comparison of the Pro-Series power and response to a four-stroke fuel injected bike. Get rid of bogs, no flat spots, and put big power to the ground. No amount of jetting will be able to fully eliminate this, you will always have to compromise somewhere.Posted October 3, 2017. I recently purchased a new 4T lectron Carb for my spare DRZ400SM. First off it took weeks to get as they were waiting or their new, must have billet throttle tubes. My biased vote would be get a carbed bike. The smart carb is really close to fuel injection. This is my 4th SmartCarb and they are excellent carbs, well-made and they come with supreme support – always quick to answer questions. I use this bike for pure MX, the carb goes way beyond off road, works wonderfully with my engine package too. Stop the tuning madness and step up to a Smart Carb 2, worth the expense.You really had to be careful not to pop and stall it. Now i tried everything I could on purpose to stall it in the name of testing and could only make it do it twice. On top of that when you would pop and stall it before it would take forever to get it relit. Now it does not care. 1-2 kicks and you off.Dec 3, 2018. #1. My BIL also has a 2008 KTM 300. The carb kept on icing Saturday night. The conditions for icing were probably about perfect, real humid, right around freezing.
